THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE VALENTINES DAY
THE GAFF, HOLLOWAY ROAD, LONDON

CATFIGHT
Debut performance for the punk/grunge influenced band put together by former Nemhain
guitarist Samara. We get 3 furious covers of the Ramones, L7 and Misfits and one original
song, it was an impressive start, sure there were a lot of nerves but few mistakes, the
vocalist is clearly possessed by some form of demon and she paces the stage like a wild
animal !
Much more to come this year, quite possibley THE one to watch for.

MALLORY KNOX
Fronted by the feisty Kit on vocals and lead guitar, the London four piece rock the gaff to
its knees with a non stop punk fueled set. Each song blends into the next, barely pausing for
breath, backed by a solid band Mallory Knox never fail to impress.About time they had a cd
out i think!

AFFLUENZA
Everytime i see this band they just go up and up in my estimation, their take on metal with
rhythm and agression perfectley balanced by outstanding drumming and growling vocals is
quite breathtaking.

SPIDERBABY
Brighton techno/glam/rock quartet took to the stage with confidence and soon spread their
charm to the audience.A fantastic mixture of Rocky Horror/Spit Like This and sleazy pop rounded off with a bunch of roses !
Seriously good stuff, one track "Baby Doll" really sticks in your mind with a stunning vocal from Ashleigh Jade.
They have an ep out called 'The Death Of Spiderbaby' i suggest you grab one while you still can.

NEMHAIN
Kicking off in style with 'Heroin Child', Ambers unruly mob proceeded to entertain in the
only way they know how to - Loud as fuck and giving it their all!!!!!
A stunning set featured all the classics like 'Ana', 'Speed Queen' and 'Dirty Weekend', the definitive cover version of 'Die Die My Darling'complete with new last line "I'll be seeing you in the bar" and the new songs 'Clear My Eyes', 'Jane Doe #1','From The Ashes' (A headbanging classic!) and the infectious cover of the Gits 'Second Skin'.
Not a foot wrong tonight, perfect in every damn way and over 100 people singing along.
With the album 'From The Ashes' due anytime now and a promo video for 'Second Skin' Nemhain are finally about to reap the rewards of 3 years hard work and explode (at last) onto the whole music scene !
